Repeatable by design

The method is part of the record.

Hash batches

Each SHA-256 input is the UTF-8 encoding of JSON.stringify(["sha256-batch/v1", seed, index]). Indexes start at zero. Outputs retain that order.

Integer matrices

SHA-256 seeds a xorshift32 generator. It fills A, then B, with integers from 0–255. Multiplication uses exact integer sums. The export stores the entire row-major output matrix.

What verification means

A fresh worker repeats the saved inputs and compares every actual output value. A matching seed or checksum alone never grants a match. Saved records must be rerun after loading to earn a fresh comparison.

What time means

Active wall time is measured with the worker’s monotonic clock and excludes acknowledged pauses. It includes scheduling and execution overhead; it is not CPU time. Total wall time includes pauses. Neither is a fair cross-device reward score.

Limits and privacy

100–20,000 hashes or a 16–128 square matrix. One worker, a 30-second active wall-time cap, and immediate termination on cancel or page exit. Inputs and results stay in this browser. Hosting still receives ordinary page requests.
